Can anyone tell me if my best bet to buy 2 more Scotty downriggers would be at the sports show? It seems like everywhere I look they are all the same price, does Scotty tell the vendors what to sell em for? Thanks All

I had the same concern prior to buying my 2 Cannon Mag 10 HS's. I used the West Marine Advantage Plus program, and the "new boat 10% discount", and got my Cannons reduced from retail $1,000.00 to $880.00 (they also sell Scotty's). The "new boat" discount is 10% off all purchases for 1 month (and they knew my boat wasn't recently purchased), and the Advantage Plus program cost $19.00 to open, but provided $40.00 credit for any future purchase....which I have many! This was better than any deal I could find on new equipment with warranty, including e-bay.

Check the ISE, but Scotty is not listed as an exhibitor. Fishermans warehouse might have a show discount, but not likely $100+.

Good luck

The best deal on Scotty's I found were through Steve's Fishing Supplies, and no tax. Scotty does tell their vendors the lowest price they can charge.
Martinez Frank found a good price on another site, maybe PM him for the link, I believe they also raised their price since he bought his :-/ worth a try though. Also, Fishermans Wearhouse usually has a sale with the no tax thing during the ISE shows.

My friend bought two Scottys last year at the Sac ISE, no sales tax, there was a $50.00 price reduction that day per DR, got his DR balls and additional releases for free, went to the Scotty booth with the receipt and got the ball retrivers for free. It came up to a big savings that day since alot of the freebies you usually have to pay for. I think the real savings most of time at these shows come in the extra products you will get that you would eventually have to buy anyway.
They kept the DR to the side and when we were leaving, they even hauled them out to the parking lot and put them in the truck for us. He wouldn't take a tip for his time, but we tried.

100.00 savings on two, and all the goodies for free, that is a good deal. Worth looking into is you're shopping for riggers. The "free" goodies can add up fast if you have to buy them ;)

WAIT FOR THE ISE!!!
I got hooked up last year, show specials. I got 2 Scotty 1106 elect DR for the $850.00 range, NO TAX. Also recieved two releases, and 10bs balls. There are plenty of deals at the show, West Marine is around all of the time!
