I fished with my friend Blake from 1:30-5:30pm and I caught 8 commons, 6 between 1 and 5lbs and a 10lb 1oz and an 11lb 12oz. Blake caught 2 at 4lb and 4lb 8oz.

My two biggest ones.

I gotta hit up the duck pond, minnow! I fished the hell out of that pond when I was a kid. I bet I used a different bait then you too! ;)

Is there catfish along with the carp in this pond? I'm afraid to catch a duck or goose there. ;D

did the fish gave you a fight? imagine using a very light tackle to bring something like that in. i've caught way smaller ones then that and it sure gave me some good fighting. i could imagine the fight unless these ones dont fight back.

I was just there. Fished for one hour using wheat bread, had one take down but the fish spit the bait once it felt the resistance. Ran out of time and had to go. The rain makes all the dried duck feces smell really bad.

Nice carps!!! Me and my friends carp fish all the time. I've read about your carp fishing sessions many time. Maybe we can get together sometimes for some carp fishing? We've caught some monsters to maybe 30+ lbs...we got this dough mixture that NEVER fails to catch!! :D SERIOUSLY. We live out in Richmond but we fish everywhere. We caught couple over last couple of weeks in Suisun Bay and the Delta that push well near the 30+ lbs range. Let me know if you're interested. Where do you fish?

Have you tried using a light tackle in that bay. those carps have that bulky body that makes it a thrill to catch.
small tackle + big bulky fish = excitment

We didn't take any pictures but next time i catch some, i'll make sure to take some pictures to post. yeah fishermienh, that area got some huge ones swimming around. i used 8'6" daiwa heartland ml action/daiwa regal z with 15 lb berkeley big game line with 2 oz weight...if i ever make it out there i'm going to try lighter tackle but i've broken off big ones with 6 lb lines before ( trout setup ), that's why i switched to 15 ib line
