I know this is a long shot to ask about an obscure lagoon up here in Humboldt County but has anyone ever has success fishing for catfish in Freshwater Lagoon?

hm...is that the lagoon, where the steelheads are in? cause my brother fishes it, and he says he's only caught largemouth, and steelheads

Hi all- Dan the bass man from Humboldt State reports he has seen occasional small bullhead floating dead in the weeds, with the max size being about 10 inches. So it seems there are catfish in there, but nobody has caught them before (or maybe nobody has tried for them before). Well, as they say there is only 1 way to find out! I see a summer night with a latern, cribbage board and six pack in my future. :)

The lake isn't that obscure. The lagoon has cutthroat and rainbow trout as well as trophy largemouth bass. We used to catch brown bullheads up there in August. We would go troll for salmon at the mouth of the Klamath and then spend the evening bankin it for the bullheads, the south west end has a mud/gravel bottom that has few weeds in about 16-20 feet of water, good luck. ;)

You would also have fun doing that in the bay going for leopards, dogs and rays. PM me if you want some tips.
