is it real tough? also how well does live baitfish work for cats? ive heard things about bluegills... but ive only caught stripers on those

You will not catch a lot of fish on bluegills but when you get one hang on to your rod, because it will be a good one.

works real good on them with live bait, whiskers don't have problem swallowing a bluegill, just like a 40" striper with a 20" shad.

I have caught whiskers with bait that are twice the size of itself and it swallowed the whole thing in seconds. Keep in mind that whiskers are one of the most aggressive and hungriest predatory fish out there in our water ways...just not the fastest ;D ;)

ive heard you need to find the nastest blowdown/snag/cover etc. and get your bait right in it and let it sit there

i caught 6 cats the other day >:(, they wouldnt leave my carp baits alone, it was cold aswell all were between from 4 to around 7lbs.

Pepperami on hair rig with a small hook #6 or #8 none of those sea anchors you guys use ;D, had cats to around 20lb in the past on these hooks and carp baits ;)

Winter catfishing is trophy catfishing time in the motherlode lakes!
AND you don't need no stinking live bait...or even "stinky bait"...just a chunk of mackeral with no weight! :o ;)

(It helps if it's dark and your guides are icing up) :D

Thats the stuff, roughly 1/2" dia sticks cut into bits up to around 3/4"long.
