Thanks, if i could stay overnight it would make the drive be less of a factor, too far for a day session and i'm strict C&R (all fish)

I don't know. I'm a local here and there isn't a reservoir in Santa Clara Co. worth more than an hour drive. All or almost all our reservoirs have mercury so if they aren't stocked we locals don't eat them. *If you are a good carp fisherman that's about all we have in our waters with size but be prepared to take the "tomato" bath because in this area skunks come often and "little dinkers" come even more often. Just keeping it real because I'd hate to see you drive a long way for nothing. Oh and as far as size I caught an 8 lb carp on accident out of Calero Reservoir and let him go. Around here I see them usually run in schools of 3 or 4 with a 10 lb, 8 lb, 3lb and 2 lber in the group. *

Stevens Creek may have a couple of monsters, but not many. This lake has a lot of them. These are accidental catches while bass fishing.

Thanks for the info, i'm not so worried about the mercury as i'm strict C&R but it looks like a lot of lakes around here a high number of average size and the big ones are like a needle in a haystack.

Yes if you want to show me some big ones i'll do my level best to show you how ;D

The ones in the picture are average size in this lake. A friend of mine caught a 38" in the same lake and again, he was hunting for bass. I have seen some monsters roll right in front of me. This is in the Silicon Valley, if you are interested shoot me a PM.
