Alright I just got myself a boat early this year, I am planning to bring it out for the first time shad fishing, which launch is easier for beginners? I was looking at miller park boat ramp and broderick boat ramp on the map. Any suggestion?

Last I heard Broderick is still closed and Miller ramp is sketchy due to mud.

Probably, if you are intent to fish downtown. I think Garcia is also still closed.

If you have a light weight boat or a 4X4 truck Miller should be OK. Lots of people going out of there lately.

Good luck on the shad!

Good to know, I trailer a Montauk 17 with a 4x4 tundra. I guess I am gonna give it a try this Sunday. Thank you!

The Sacramento Bee is reporting that Discovery Park will be opening this weekend. Press release:

We will find out how badly silted-in the ramp area is.

Will this be the first time you have launched a boat yourself? If so you might benefit from some advice we can give you. If it isn't your first time then just go out and have a great time.

Discovery park...leave your valuables and stereo at home not in your truck
