My brother caught a cat on a boggie bait or chatter bait, or whatever it's called while bass fishing at CL.

They do that a lot in Texas. Its rare in Cali, though I do have one pond in Lincoln I can do that pretty often while Bass fishing. I bet you thought you had a decent striper on?

Looks like a river bank, where was this? If you don't mind sharing that is. I'm not going out there to try for cats on topwater so no worries there. Pm me if need be I'm just curious where you caught him.

Grantline canal (rock dam) I am not a cat guy , but saw the guy next to me caught a stringer full of nice cats. Lots of fish there during the incoming tide Cat,LMB,Striper and BIG Bluegill.

I caught a channel cat in my pond last year on a terminator spinner bait fished near the top. The amazing thing is that I have fished my pond for at least 45 years and never caught a cat. My father and grandfather always said that the pond had cats, but that was the first I had ever seen caught.

We were cruising around Disappointment Slough last Monday and saw several good sized fish close to the surface. At closer look, we noticed they were catfish. We were throwing spooks out too, but no takers! Three blowups but it was just them getting scared from the lure hitting the water next to them! LOL! ;D

I'll try harder next time!!!
