Couple questions about the video.
1-Are those gibs Minnows like the ones used for salmon in sacto river well that's what I used on the river. Their kinda heavy and you bend them little they jig very well.
2-trying to remember is that the pyramid were their jigging if so I was only there once 1996 and it was deep and I saw lot fish on graph but had no jigs.

Gibbs Minnows, Pline Jigs, Crippled Herrings. spoons, Maribu Jigs. Anything 3 to 5 inches you can get down 30 to 90 feet. Favorite jigging spots are Warrior Point, Between Pelican and Windless, Off of Spider. Hell's Kitchen on the east side of the lake. Scope deep spots where there are lots of bait or large fish lying on the bottom.

Looks like the movie was taken a Hell's Kitchen and yes it's that nuts. Their fish are kind of small.

That video and the 3 subsequent videos by the same guys were filmed at the Needles. They are jigging near one of the large needles but in many of the pictures you can see the others in the left background. That needle is also one of the favorite spots to jig for sacramento perch but many days the little trout are pests and hit before the perch can get to the jig.
The videos are from 2012 so there was still plenty of water up there.

Just trying get my thoughts together for the fest. You only need permits for tribal waters, boating, fishing, camping are all separate permits. If you get the yearly permit for fishing it is around $78 bucks, add another $78 for a second rod. Yearly boating added in for a total of $248. The camping can be purchased for a 3 day pass too. Just make sure you follow the rules they do check things at the dock........Jetspray

The walk to the waterline at Pelican just keeps getting shorter. Wouldn't it be sweet to sit on a rock at the pads (not that pointed one) and cast for cuts.

Look at the small map in this article and you will see where the Needle rocks are on the lake. The Needle rocks are also called the Pinnacles.

Those two anglers deserve kudos for the way they handled their fish. Great job.

There are a couple of neat hot springs near the pinnacles north of the lake. Back in the day, early 70s, the wife and I would go up there to be by ourselves and enjoy the waters. These are now off limits to all but the tribe.
