Well, GOLDENTROUT was going to post this, but I had some time on my hands this afternoon, so I went ahead and did it, maybe he'll post some of the good pics we took. *We fished the Humboldt River and we managed to catch just about every species of fish that swims in it. *GOLDENTROUT was really hoping to catch his first walleye, but he wasn't lucky enough to get one, I however, was lucky enough to get two. *GOLDENTROUT did get the biggest catfish though. *He also caught a yellow perch, his first. *I've never heard of anybody catching yellow perch in the Humboldt River, but there is a first time for everything. *Lightening struck twice, and I caught one as well. *The walleyes were about 2-2.5 pounds, and the biggest cat was about the same. The highlight of my day was breaking off a big mystery fish, it was probably a carp. I would guess it was around 10 pounds, and I fought it for about 2 minutes before it snapped me off. It may have been a big walleye though, I'll never know. *Fun day of fishing with you as usual Justin.

Here's what a walleye looks like. *Disclaimer, there is a health warning out on the Humboldt River. *All fish were released. ;D *We wouldn't want Mercury poisoning. *8-) *[smiley=chowtime.gif]

What a great day! Thanks for showing me the area Mike. Best all round fisherman Ive met, from Macks to walleyes, salmon to stripers. Is there any fish you dont go after and catch ;D The river is a cool place, by far the best warm water fishing in the west that Ive done. Plus walleyes, big ones and they are so close to home ;D
Got this cat the same time Mr.Sockeye got his first eye

After talking to a lot of people that eat the fish all the time and have for many years and reading the report by ndow that says you can eat 4-8oz a week and walleyes and wipers at your own risk ( that means ours in this case). So we took a few home.
