"Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this it will help you some sunny day
Oh, take your time, don't live too fast
Troubles will come and they will pass
Go find a woman and you'll find love
And don't forget, son, there is someone up above" *Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man

Went to Clear Lake for yet another on the water, live music, catfishing, bbq'ing, all night adventure with my wife. *Had a great time and caught plenty of channel cats. *

Here's the result of a double header caught during the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert

Middle of the night fish

Another late night double

My wife got several fish in the 10 pound range but she wouldn't let me post the pictures because she doesn't like the way she looks in the pics. *Gotta respect the Warden ;)

80% of the fish were in the 4 to 7 pound range with a sprinkling of larger fish mixed in. *The overnight bite was red hot with multiple double headers. *The weather was warm and for once there was no overnight wind at the lake.

Tight lines everyone. . . . *

Great report and no wind. *That must have been nice!Yeah, the lack of wind was a nice change MB. I can only remember one other trip to Clear Lake with conditions like that. Far too often it's windy as heck. Not very safe if you don't have the proper setup.

This was the first trip I can remember where I actually stopped fishing. The bite was so hot that I just couldn't rest. I know, I know, what a nice problem to have. :) After a double header at 3am I decided to reel both fish to the boat, leave the fish in the water, put both rods back in the holders, and just let the fish torque the rods for the rest of the night until I woke up at 6am. I then pulled the fish into the boat, unhooked 'em, and sent them on their way.

I've been to clearlake when it is really windy. I seen boats getting washed up on shore and the guys in it doing everything they can to keep it from tipping over in the waves crashing it onto shore :o Sounds like a good night.

Yeah, the wind keeps a lot of people away MB. The waters can be dangerous when it's gusty. You gotta know your boat, know it's limits, and know when it's time to seek shelter. But if you have patience & persistence at that lake, you will be rewarded with unbelievable catches of channel cats.

The bite was so hot that you had to stop fishing...... lol
Good job again, did skynyrd play Tuesday's Gone? That's one of my favorite songs of all time.

I know about picking your days and limits of your boat at clear lake. *I usually fish it in my inflatable boat with at 3.3 HP motor. *I have had trips when we can go all over that lake and get into some good fish and others when I don't even take it out of the van. ;D
This is it all put together at Black Butte
