A phenomenal day on Shasta lake for browns. Lines down at 1pm, done by 4pm. 3 hours for 5 browns ranging from 4.8 to 7lbs. Including a double with a 7lb and 6lb side by side. That was a task! Bringing in the 6, meanwhile the 7 was ripping line out like nobody's business, got the first one in, grabbed the other rod, tightened up my drag and that turkey was still running in the opposite direction. Every fish got aerial at the boat, didn't lose a single one thanks to all new gami hooks. All released to catch another day. Plus a rainbow wanted to play. All fish caught on Trinidad tackle's Optimizers trolling 3.8 mph. Black/white large #4* (cop car) is a brown slayer! Although the big fish came on purple/white #3. If you're a brown hunter.. pick up some b&w #4's. But I highly reccomend replacing the existing trebles with Gamakatsu #2's or 4's. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180226/78b56e02514e58afceb1229511e36f9c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180226/949a6395d0256032e933476fcfb9d1c3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180226/dd9ecf7ee4ed87bfa0f124132268ef9c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180226/834565c6e4bdae8a59651de33e7bf7b9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180226/1fdceb98dfa97df44d94ef58620f6503.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180226/e53f8db64ce6cad26d5ac92af982b447.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180226/a30714162563ae4048e5e6e4b1ae91f2.jpg

Strong work!

Any issue with pulling the boards at that speed?

Strong work!

Any issue with pulling the boards at that speed?None at all. Both the Offshore boards and Church's walleye boards handle it with ease.. even with weighted line and deep divers.

Man I have seen bigger...just never in my net. Nice fish!!!I'm in the same boat as you then. I have yet to land the double digit brown. Sunday I matched my personal best. I can't begin to imagine the fight a 10+ would put up on semi light tackle. Have graduated to 12lb fluoro. It feels right for now.

ReaperBest advice i can give is get your lure about 10 to 20' off the bottom along the shoreline/points. I rarely mark them on the sonar as they hide behind or under rocks and ambush their meal. There are dry spells, but keep at it. The Mcloud arm is a good place to start. Good luck!

The weather up here has been perfect for Brown fishing. Just don't want to catch a low or high-pressure change day. Day after one of the two is crazy Brown fishing.Bring warm clothes and rain gear you will be fine

Great report and good information. I have really enjoyed fishing for Browns on the McCloud arm. We used to roll Shad at a much slower speed. Never had the success you reported. Thanks for the tips.
