View Full Version : "Jack the Reaper" @ Lake Camanche 3/11/18

Had a special guest on the Reaper today, Jack! Die hard little fisherman, but had never caught a trout before, and over the last few months, he has been trying his heart out to get one. Launched @ 6:15, and first fish was on at 6:35. Started the day with a double and the action was steady until we stopped around 11 am with two limits of hefty fish. Biggest was 24" in length, didn't have the scale today, but it was a fatty! Not many small fish today, all good size and quality fish. Mainly fished the middle of the lake, just cruising all around. Top water bite was on until around 9:30, and then the rods @ 5 feet were getting abused!!! Double "D" spoons, Shiners, and Tasmanian's, rounded out the arsenal for today. 2.5 - 2.8 mph with various scents , including Jack's secret scent that worked great! The weather was GORGEOUS!!!! Needless to say, I think Jack a great time!

Looks to me jack has a smile from ear to ear.
I'm glad to hear that he caught fish.
Nothing better than the memories and the
Way to go Jack.

Hey Reaper,

Are you running those naked or with dodger/flasher? Also, what colors on the speedies and tasmanians?

No dodgers, 6 leader with just the lure. Speedy Shiner colors of red/copper and blue/copper. The Tasmanian colors that were productive were pink and purple. Good luck!

Thanks Reaper! Gonna hit up Fishermans Warehouse soon. Hope to see you out there after this storm.

Bass Pro has an outstanding selection of TDs. Also, take a look at their spoons, their called Dancing Demons or Demon Dancers (one of the 2). They are a couple bucks cheaper, and worked great. Good luck

What size and color do you suggest?

Need a BP in South Sac/Elk Grove area. I'm out in Sheldon. Rocklin is a pain to get to.

One color or size wont cover everything. Sit your wife down and explain to her you need one or two of each color and size 😂:worthy:

I'm not good at splainin' (in Ricky Ricardo voice), so I just bought her some jewelry and told her I want some jewelry too. Really the only difference is, she throws hers in a wooden box with little drawers on the dresser and I throw mine in a plastic box with little drawers on the boat.
