Have not posted for years so here it goes. Four bows to about 4# or so and two huge crappie all released. Big hat island, home made spoons, 150' set back, trophy trout scent. Water was 56 degrees with good clarity. Trout were clean, crappie were super fat.

Hey thanks for the post. If you don't mind, what bait, times and depth were the bites?

That was a bit ridiculous of me I guess. Made me laugh at myself which is a good way to start the day.
Thanks!

P.S. One more question; What color hat? LOL

Welcome to the boards! There is NOTHING wrong with asking "What depth?". That is a very good question. I had assumed they would be in the top five feet, as other posts have suggested, but there has been nearly a week of rain and warming temps. However, I would assume if he's setting back 150 feet, he's top-lining unless he specifies that he's using lead core.

Don't need the GPS.

I do need a ride.

Can you come get me?

After I found the GPS coords for the water (haha), I went to Camanche today. Awesome weather! First strike was while I was letting my line out to get ready to put in downrigger. Jumped clean out of the water and spit the speedy shiner out in mid air about 40 ft behind me. Tried top 5-10, then 10-15, 20-25 and then 30-40. Caught a decent 16 incher at 21 ft. Several more hits at 20-25. You sure could see them move down as the sun heated up the water. I left about 4 and water was right at 60 and fish were marking at 40-50.

Stuck with shiners all day. Just switched out colors. going back tomorrow. Bait suggestions?

Are shiners like needle fish and kastmaster lures?
