Berryessa 8-26-18 Plus a short video.
With the weather being so hot this was our first time fishing in about a month. It was really nice to get the boat wet and hunt down some Berryessa trout.
7am we head out to the main lake and fast troll. 3-3.5mph. Didn't take long before the poles were bending over. We ended up catching eight trout to
22", Three bass and one Crappie. Lost another four or five trout as well.
Best depth was 26-38'. Gvf Lures (https://www.facebook.com/gvf.lures?fref=mentions&__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARCjbZoTEwtmE8H0vXiOQf-3D8y5085GEyDIqK4V5au5W_51UNi8pKynuY0e4tALMV8vucpgC EBD8cmjx5zhH0h-vl5TlHnsSZD9w_a4lHrNhpZHThWIHEKx3ww3yVJuuBVbePE&__tn__=K-R), Rapalas, and Kastmasters did the damage. These Eagle lake strain trout are just so bright, clean and fun to fish for! Can't wait to go back! It may be a couple of weeks though as I am having eye surgery. (Lasik)
Here are the pics and a quick video.
Until next time....

Wow, awesome results.

I have never tried trolling my Rapalas. Do you run them behind dodgers or flashers with long leaders or just tug them alone?

Thanks for the share!!

Iíve run them behind micro flashers as well as sling blades, but most often alone. I like Rapalas, they run well under low or higher speeds, on a dowrigger, toplining, or with a small inline weight.

I apologize for not posting several trips. Life got kind of busy and crazy! lol. But yes we fished and camped all over. Bullards bar twice, Collins lake, Lake Francis, Tahoe etc. It got away from me a bit. Had a blast though. I did post on FB but didn't get to the boards that I love so much. Feel free to send me a fb request as I post frequently. Kristy Carpentier.

I run them solo. But be sure to use a leader. Don't tie directly to your main line. Sometimes we use two leaders in line. Better action!

in the early 2k's when I came to nv, I fished with my son-in-law 'bite-me' Ken Hembree,
all he ever used whenI was fishing with him was rapalas at pyramid. always did good with
them, may have to try them this season sinceit's been several years since I have trolled a
rapala there.
