Haven't been fishing much as of late. Jetspray and I decided to take a look At Blue Lakes one more time before it closes. A secondary reason was to see how the fall colors are coming along up 88. There are some colors showing especially around Sorensen's. But for the most part the peak seems to be one or two weeks off. We arrived at Lower Blue Lake at 0830 and fished the shore down from the dam. We fished for 3 hours and managed 8 fish to the shore. The fish came on Gulp and a 1/4 oz gold Kastmaster. The weather was clear and warm with glassy conditions until 1030. Thanks for the ride Dave. We got it right this time.

Colors Starting on 88.

Beautiful pics as always CC, we're going to be in the Lone Pine area in a few weeks and hope to catch the fall colors down that way.

Dang, just love your pictures and reports Captain. Thanks! Glad you and Jetspray had a good day.We have been doing fishing from my fishing car, a 2006 Nissan Altima that I inherited from my dad in 2014. It is rough around the outside but the mechanics are sound (it had everything done to it when I got it home, and it gets regular checkups every 3,000 miles), and with the back seat down it works great for hauling as many as 3 guys and gear around......Jetspray

I used to have an old Toyota Corolla that we would take fishing when we were going off the bank. I have this 8 ft. rod with no ferrule that I use for striper plugging. Used to have to crack the passenger window and drive around with the tip sticking out to make it fit in there.

Most of the time I go there I drive my camper (it is 95 miles away and if I have to take a nap it works)..Jetspray
