Sadly those beautiful bows are going to be a thing of the past. DFW has made the decision to end planting the mother lode lakes per their biologist. I am trying to get a face to face meeting with him to discuss some ideas I have.

Please post reference material or website that announces CDFW's policy. A quick search didn't reveal any information, etc. Thanks.

I also did a quick search and could find nothing. I would think that would be big news if that happens.

I got the info from Brian Beal, senior environmental supervisor for DFW, I think our local biologist is Kyle Murphy, maybe he could weigh in on this. Waiting to hear from Brian.

This doesnít pass the smell test for me. It would surprise me a great deal if it were true.

Are sure thatís what Brian said?

That wasn't his exact words. He stated for the time being they are focusing on the cold water lakes due to the lack of fish.

These lakes have the option of stocking themselves and choose not. That's their choice to rely on DFW and not actually manage their fishery.

Camanche holds a huge population of bass as well and suffers from warm water. Yet they do not rely on DFW stocks and have a year around fishery for trout, as does Pardee and Collins
