HerculesIf you can forego the weather, it should be good. They have planted it recently, that is usually done behind the Casino at that launch. Shore fishing the west side should be productive but most of that area is either private or semi off limits due to the restrictions imposed by the water district office allowing no vehicles on the shoreline. If you have the Douglas county yearly sticker there is more shoreline to work and the water is on the rise...…..Jetspray

I was more interested in the Snow, if you can get to the shore, etc. Wow a 3:30 AM reply, thought I was an early riser. My boat has a Tahoe only sticker and it is way to cold/windy to go up there (for me) but not to bad for Topaz off the bank(nice fire side seat, or in the truck to warm up). I live in Dayton and have been thinking about Pyramid lake, but have never fished it. I generally fish alone and the ramp/parking lot looks like it may be a pain for one person, if it is busy (just thinking out loud) plus it is a long drive over and back for one day, etc. guess I'm getting to old...:violin:

Thanks for reply

Hercules 100Well I am old but still seeing the grass on the topside. I would suggest you attend a Pyramid Fest in April for sure, you will meet a bunch of FishSniffers and Finnadicts as well. Topaz access is easy in the winter as long as you know there is not a ice sheet on top. You can call the Casino office for conditions of the lake. The parking is at the head of the ramp and there is a cleaning station there too as well as a potty. Just pay your daily fees and you are good to go. During the summer months they do have an inspector that looks at things including your AIS sticker, but he shows up around 08:00 so he hardly looks at my gear until I come out of the water. It is very easy to get into fishing there for sure......Jetspray

Listen, if you just want to get out, don't care about eating, Lahanton is starting to light up. Wipers and walleyes, around the dam and canal outlet. Saying no more!

I went out Sunday for a couple hours from around 11:00-1:00, fished off the big rock pile near the boat ramps, power-bait, no bites.
I think I'm inept at fishing Topaz, or my setup is all wrong. Fourth time out there this year, same results...

Their not deep, right now, fish the open shore. Also add a piece of crawler to your PB, I like about a two to three foot 4lb. leader. Don't forget "old school" Pautskis and marshmallows!

I'll keep at it, thanks for the tips!Nothing too deep, closer to the bottom on a slider rig egg weight. We will be there Friday looks like the best day to give it a try. We use Gulp most of the time either Orange Pulp or Chartreuse are the colors of bait we use. If you see my truck come on by and join the party. Just got my Nevada lic today at Big 5, $41 easy peasy……..Jetspray

Thanks again! I'm still just a working stiff, so weekdays are out for me, but good luck out there!

Thanks again! I'm still just a working stiff, so weekdays are out for me, but good luck out there! It never leaves anything out for a weekend trip. Sometime before the crowds come for the summer special. I am still on restriction so it might be lifted on the 12th of March, I will post that. It limits me to be safe on the water, I do not drink and drive so that is I never allow booze or drugs on the boat. Topaz is the easier target to fish. You are within the range of me in Gardnerville so we can look at something after the 12th...….Jetspray
