First trip of the year.
A break from little league.
Finally back to the salt!
One of the first boats out, headed out about 0620.
Decided to start off towards the birdcage in 17ft of water. I guess that was the common place, here come all the charters and privates.
Had a drive by within 15min, then dead for a while.
Decided to move to deeper water towards the shipping channel outside the fleet.
Started getting scratched baits, finally picked up the first one, 23" in 29ft of water.
Made a few more passes in that area for a few more shakers.
Stayed in that area till after the tide changed and headed for hunters point.
Had scratched baits and shakers along the way. Once down close to hunters, close to my waypoint where I've picked up a few fish before. Finally get a hit with a bit of weight, not big, but better than the first, 28" caught in 25ft of water.
First fish was on a rolled herring behind a dodger.
Second fish was on a anchovy stuffed hoochie with a dodger.
The majority of hits came on the rolled herring.
We had about 7 or 8 shakers to the boat and about the same scratched baits.
Tide was nice today, water had visibility from 3ft to 2ft after the tide change.
The weather was unreal, best day ever. Didn't want to head home. We wished we had brought shorts, jeans and a tee shirt was hot.
The picture with the last fish was 1pm, and still no wind.
Nice to have halibut in the freezer after none last year from little league taking up every weekend.

Great report. Looked like a great day on the Bay. I like those No wind days. Much more enjoyable.
