Got out for what was supposed to be a halibut trip. However when we arrived my dad and I still had the sturgeon bug scratching at us. Keith at Loch Lomond convinced us to buy a few ghosts from him along with our live smelt so we grabbed 18
We hit the spot hot and we had a tagged 44 inch sturgeon on the boat in half an hour. Pulled a few shaker striper in and lost another sturgeon under the boat. Two hours later we were completely out of shrimp.
Pulled anchor and slammed the throttle southward straight into the 10 to 25 knt wind. Made it as far as Red Rock and scrapped the halibut idea. Lucky for the smelt it really got nasty out there so they were all released.
Back on land by 12:30.
