I went fishing the other afternoon at the small creek in the back of one of my jobs sites for an hour and caught several brookies, 2 browns, and 2 rainbows. All small but the action made up for it.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190711/0607a9a693155be0fca7b7d50a4792f1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190711/19e16047c48154566a8b2a1b6c7b2b86.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190711/fcd3e9e1fb6502f028d3c4867f61ff9d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190711/a3003838a421d949a19151ecc284be27.jpg

Those are fun to catch. The colors and markings are awesome.

I have a 6 1/2' Cortland five weight fly rod that I used when fishing small creeks and streams. Worked great on brush lined creeks.

I caught a lode of these brookies after work this afternoon at a different little stream.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190712/e97aaf9e639db2eab194dc8df2de78da.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190712/fa882d2bd96560d0001651ac4ea6bdd4.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190712/05a29028cd340c7a6049153a6ccb1db4.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190712/6280219de22009c5b23bdb6efe8ae3a9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190712/1dae77efb456d19bd0b71907b80d0bce.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190712/c9416c810ed4ceacc0b4c3cf7c156ec8.jpg

Those little guys are always fun to play with.

Butter fly ? !

At my summer cabin at Tahoe if a EB is 6" or less, it is cooked with flower, S/P and I start..........
at the tail and end at the head, just like eating French fries.

6" plus is eaten like an ear of corn, with the bones and head, left to dry.

I only eat these little guys when I'm back packing. Otherwise I mostly catch and release unless the fish is really bleeding .If I would have kept these fish I would have limited out in 10 to 15 minutes. I personally like the fish a little longer than that.

That Hopper pattern must have looked like a big Porterhouse Steak to those fish after our super long winter season!

Many fish in the lakes above 9K are going to have a very short window to feed this year.............. those poor EBs are going to be big-head/snake body.

The EBs you hooked are nice fun fish. You're fortunate to have that as an after work activity.

Got to feed them some steak the mayflies and yellow sally's were hatching so I went with something different. Also I am VERY lucky to be able to fish before and or after work and I take FULL advantage of it. Like today I found out my materials we're not going to show up so I naturally went for a hike and fish. After a few miles I got into a lot more brookies.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190713/a8a462edd9e6bd0de9f7fe28f6b6da90.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190713/f09c478f11775a8fd9601b4cd5294d38.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190713/56ec017f51b6bc2fcadbc1e6ba864253.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190713/b13c4a7894012f8fab76ffdf18b5fc88.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190713/40761eb724c2441c4465e832c650a17d.jpg
