HEy guys,

I was on norcal fishing.com and I was looking around at the pictures. I have never seen so many catfish come out of San pablo! Just tons of cats from 5 pounds to 21 pounds. Alot of them were on Mackeral and Liver. Some of the good spots are just off of the Boat launch, Main recretional Area, Scow Canyon, and the Tower.

I would either anchor or drift with Livers and mackeral and worms dngling just a little off the bottom strait down from the boat. If I was in the bay area right now I would be there tomarrow!!! ;D

Good question PP!!! and the answer is NO!! San Pab is a great catfish lake but not right now. Around May-June it starts going crazy.

I stand corrected!! My buddy stopped by the marina yesterday and saw the pics of someone's 22 lber they just caught on liver!! Looks like I'll have to find some time to check it out this weekend.

Went fishing at the Dam yesterday and we didn't get a single bite. But did see a picture of a 24 lber caught the other day. Both the 22 and 24 were caught at the main rec area.

Donovan Diaz of San Pablo caught a 22 lb. catfish on 3/6 using chicken liver at the main rec.

James Liu of El Sobrante caught a 24 lb. catfish on pork liver at the main rec.

This tells me san pablo is a spot to try for cats right now, I bet if anyone tryed they would not get skunked!

That must be the spot. me and panfish hiked all over that lake and only got one small trout. On the way out we seen a guy who could not even walk with a stringer full of huge trout right in the main area. :-/
