Clams are best in the DWC but sardines and livers work also. You may get a striper using sardines. JIM D.

A hook 12 pound test line and chicken liver will work just fine. No weight needed

I like to use a 1/2 oz. sliding sinker with a #4 hook, and balance your pole. JIM D.

DWC is accesible from West Sac off of Jefferson.Fished there last night from 9pm to midnight.Caught 8 catfish;all pansize 1-2.5 lbs.Released them all.Still unsure about eating those bullheads in the port.Used clams and fished the incoming tide.As far as bait,as JimD has said, clams seem to get the best action on the cats there.I've used livers there and the baby stripers wouldn't leave them alone long enough to get a catfish.I've been told by some experienced fishermen there to try crawdads or jumbo minnows for some big ones.Sardines are always pretty effective as well.Might even run into a nice striper.
