Hey guys, I am heading up to Clear lake next week for some cat and bass fishing, and I was wondering where some good spots to try out might be. I am going to be staying towards the North end, so some spots around there would be best. But I will have a boat so if the south end is better I have no problem running down there.

I was also wondering how you rig up crawdads. Do you cut off their tail and hook it through the shell or what? Any help would be appreciated.

I was up there 2 weeks ago and tried crawdads, whole and just the tail, no bites at all either way, all my fish came on nightcrawlers. If you are going to use just the tail, break the tail off and peel it. just the meat is what you want. If you are going to use the whole crawdad, break off the big claws first. JIM D.

If you don't get bit with crawdads... try moving them real slow...every minute or two.
Old trick that's deadly around Konocti area. ;)
At the north end 'crawlers or minnows are #1.
