Hello Sniffers.
I've been reading the boards for a while and everyone's stories and posts are great.

Does anyone fish for cats in any of the high sierra lakes?
If they are up there do they get big?

Any info would be great.

Stumpy has/had lots of bull heads. They are small, but it's funny when you're expecting a trout and one them takes off with your bait.

i havent seen many reports of them coming out of stumpy...maybe they just are ashamed that they caught a cat instead of that 8 lb trout ;D ;D ;D

Lake Almanor has a healthly population of Cats. The cold water really keeps them firm and they are pretty good eating.

no experience there

Hmm, i was always under the impression that the cold water up there would make the fishing for them pretty difficult. Are they really as active as they would be in the valley lakes?
