*Went to berryessa fishing with my sister. We did pretty good for fall fishing. We got 4 nice catfish all 5-6 pounds and I pulled up a 10#er from my inflatable boat. It fought forever and was hard to keep out of the trees. *We also got about 10 small mouth bass 8-14" none so impressive that I took any Pic of. and I got one nice carp. It was a great trip. The big cat ended up getting off the stringer so he is out there for others to catch. I was going to let him go anyways but I was hoping to get some good pic with it.

Awesome fish, MB!!! I haven't caught a catfish that big in like forever. It's too bad the big one got away. I would love to have seen the pic.

I got the big one on night crawler jigged up about a foot from the bottom. It was a shocker. The other 2 were gotten on dead minnow and one was on stink bait.
I have a better stringer but I had a cat hooked on it at shore before I took the boat out. then I was going to switch it when I got back but it was really windy and I never did it.
Catfished don't let panfish hear you say that ::)

MB, you're getting good with the fillet knife. What's your favorite way to cook those cats? Honestly, I haven't been able to pull off anything tasty yet, though I've tasted some good deep fried catfish before.

nice catch MB...good size and good numbers, you can't beat those odds these days anywhere.seems the bite is goin good, atleast the cats no when to grub up before the cold comes ;)thanks for sharing the pics.

I have to agree with Diego916. You're getting good filleting those cats. One of my favorite recipes for fillets that nice is to smother them in a cajun spice rub and fry them in olive oil. But there is so many other ways to prepare them, that's the nice thing about catfish.

Way to go M.B. Too bad the hog got loose.
I first learned not to use those types of stringers for cats a couple of years ago when i went cat fishing with a couple of friends.
The bite was slow and they fell asleep, then it started picking up(i thought i would let them sleep Ha Ha ;))I was slaying them ;D
About an hour later they woke up because it was freezing cold and i told them i was slaying them and the biggest was probably around 8#'s,when i pulled the stringer out of the water i only had 4,biggest was only about3#'s.
One of my friends start laughing and says "You should have used the rope stringer, those clips open because of the cats rolling over a lot."
Boy was i ticked,i thought i had about 13,and only had 4 >:(
So when i catch cats, they always go on the rope ;)

Good advise. I think I should use those kids ones that is just a rope. that way they are not all together and they are cheep. I was disappointed he was not on there. I was going to show a guy that gave us a jump. :-/ next time it will be a bigger one :o ;D
