The Sac Bee has kept a running dialog on the Delta situation for quite awhile. And it doesn't look good. Problem is they really don't know why it's happening, only ideas at this point. :-/

It can't be good for any river system to remove the water and send it someplace else. Southern California has the votes and I expect that they will eventually dry up the Sacramento river. Owens Valley, Rio Grand, Colorado and the Sac is next, it's just a matter of time unfortunately.

We're gonna put up more of a fight than most realize. New techniques for de-salinization are coming quick...ocean water is going to be the next big resource for So-CAL.

It is not rocket science! Remove the water, dump polutants in whats left, warm it up a little, and you get a decline in the fishery! >:(
