Did anyone fish Metcalf Park?
It's in Bay Area on 101 and 85 south intersection.

Thank you.

I thought that was a 4-wheeling park. I wasn't aware they had a lake there.

Well I was there today.
It was pretty windy this morning.

My friend had lost 5 fish. His 6lb line was broken 4 times. He was using corn (i suppose it was carp)

I didn't have a single ding. Was using corn powerbait, chicken liver, plastic worms.

The lake is not very deep. But has lots of vegetation. Worth trying.

Where exactly is this park? Is it near or before the shooting range?

I used to ride/race dirt bikes there when I lived in Fremont,Ca. Never new there were lakes there. :-/ Looked up Metcalf Park on Google and sure enough, there are two bodies of water near there. May have to drive down to my old stomping grounds and check them out. Get in some moto time and catch some fish. A weekend doesn't get much better than that ;D

Are they in the park? The only bodys of water I thought were around there were Parkway and coyote creek.

There are small man-made ponds in the park. They run next to the bike path. We were on the trail a couple of years ago and ran into a group of 3 that were headed towards the water w/ their poles & buckets. I asked them what they were fishing for and they said "bass, bass & more bass!".
I've been down the path several times since then and have walked the banks to see if there are any signs of life in 'em but could not see any baitfish or sunfish. There was trash, nitecrawler containers and old lines all over the shady areas so you could tell that some people fish there.

Not to hijack the thread, but have any of you guys fished the little lakes up in Henry Coe?

Well be prepared for a good hike if you do ;D. I've been hearing of good fishing for smaller bass on some of those ponds for a while now but I'm not up for the 1+ hour hike in dry heat :-/. Everytime I say that I'll do it, I can't seem to get pass Anderson.

My best guess is that they were carp as well. There seems to be an abundance of them in our local ponds. I know some that target them for fun or just to get the skunk off their back ;). Lot's of fun on light tackle I assume.

Lol, thats why I never fished it. I only saw them on maps and always wondered what was up there and how the fishing was.

There are people that do go up there, Henry Coe that is, for a day hike or mountain biking while carrying pack-away pole types. The terrain tho' is a bit of a challenge just judging from the topo maps. One old friend's brother hiked the area years ago and said it was loaded w/ fish but he did not have a pole w/ him. I'm sure some of those could be carps too.

The lake is on the other side of Parkway Lake. Fish there a few times, mostly bluegill, carp, sucker, and some bass.
