I promised four 12 year old girls that I would take them fishing next Thursday. I haven't fished since I was a kid in Oklahoma. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the boards. I'm not sure I have the answer you are looking for but you're sure to find it here. There are a lot of great people here and I'm sure someone will have what you are looking for. I will think about it. What area are you wanting to fish in?

I'm open to going anywhere within a one hour driving radius.

You should take them down to the bay and fish for Sharks.

Sharks are a mite bit aggressive for the target audience... Lafayette Reservoir is OK, but tough at times. Maybe Del Valle (if they get bored they can swim, too) for cats or trout... Those are my suggestions.

Forget about trout or bass, sharks, sturgeon, etc.

Take them bluegill fishing. If you can put a worm on a hook, you'll catch fish :) Fishing under a bobber is easy, too.

Bluegill are all over the place. Check the panfish board. I'm sure someone can help you find a great spot. Good luck!

Try Lake Merced or San Pablo Res.
