So me and a friend are heading out on the bay for the first time tomorow. We want to fish somewhere near the dumbarton.

What I'm looking for is general tips, as I have not fished to bay since I was a kid. We are going to target Stripers and Sturgeon.

What Kind of bait should I use? And what kind of rig? Any good spots near there?

Also, where is the closest place I could launch? We are in a 19' Whaler. I don't think you can launch anything that big at the coyote hills launch, can you?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Use steel leader sturgeon rig try either grass shrimp or anchovies, stripers at times like both of those and they will also work for the sturgeon. Use sliding weight to keep bait on the bottom.
Good luck. :D

Didn't make it out on the bay, plans changed. Hit the Delta for cats instead. Did pretty good, 14 or 15 for two people.

I'll get out on the bay on of these days....
