I'm goin Halibut fishin' this weekend out of berkeley and was wondering if there are many stripers out there as well? If so where abouts?

I'm no expert fishing the Bay but every time I've gone out this year for Butts I hooked up Striper's drifting Chovies .

yep there sure are... The summer months is when the stripers are in the bay... Primarily closer towards the Gate (I just had more luck there during these months).... Look for structure and bottom changes... drift some live chovies and sardines and you should get into a few.... A lot of times during these months you may run into schools of stripers near the west/nw part of the bay (i.e. red rock, the brothers, sisters, etc.).. easy picking when that happens... *;D


but don't limit yourself to what I've stated... They can also be found in the flats... or anywhere else in the bay... Hopefully this helps out a little...

yes,still many stripers in the bay.at least the south bay. :)

Im in the south east and I haven't seen them. has anyone seen birds diving? >:(

Im in san leandro, oakland area and the smelt/shiners were ballin up!!!!!!! im goin out this weekend with the ol hair raisers, should be good!!!

i havnt seen any bird action this year in the bay.
