I have been waiting for the stripers to show up between genentech pt. and burlingame (the show boat)... Has anyone caught or heard of stripers in these areas yet? Also what should i use for bait or lures?

Thanks...

A little bird told me the schoolies have been showing up in the South Bay. Put in the time and work the tides. Use the usual suspects (bucktail jigs, spoons, rattle traps, bombers). Good Luck and post your results.

i think it is still early, but maybe in a month will be better. they are showing in the south bay already because i caught a few near the oakland airport on bait. still early for lures, haven't seen any bait fish yet.

Hit the Burlingame area last night plugging for a few hours with my buddy in hoping to hook into an early season striper.
I got 1 solid hit but misses on the hook set and the fish never come back afterward. Move to another location and my buddy later got a nice hit too but no fishes either. Didn’t see any baits movements in 3 different locations we were fishing.

Just last week some dudes pulled some stripes off of winton. It was around those warm days about a week back. Wasn't hitting until peak high slack.

When out and plugging again last night with a good friend. We were throwing hair raiser and lures for about an hour and half with no bite.
Lots of anchovies in the area but no sign of striper! The wind was decent last night, but the air was chilling cold.
Talked to a local fisherman and he said 1 striper was caught the day before, but that was it. I snag 2 nice size anchovies on my lure.
We’ll be back again next week!!!

Hey TONE, you ran into schools of anchovies last night? That's strange, I wasn't aware they were schooling in the bay right now.

You guys better get your surf gear ready. They're preparing to go out in about 2 weeks. Stopover enroute to the ocean: South Bay.

I wish I was near South Bay right now. I will be fishing it hard right about now at their usual stopping/feeding points.

Yeah, there must be big schools out there! They’re bumping into my lures and line very often.
