Is it just me or are the posts and thread on the Surf Stripers topic heading just a bunch silly banter among a handful of people who have so little fishing ability and confidence that they feel a need to try to not disclose fishing info, locations, ect.to the other readers, often refering to the PM e mail with specifics to follow their posts! It's a big ocean folks, share what you know, learn what you don't.

Don't be so quick to judge people you do not know. There are reasons for everything.

Have you tried asking some of us for help or asked any info at all that was ignored and never got any replies?
If you just fire up a question, I'm sure someone would be more that happy to answer it for you. But not me, not after your mindless ranting :-/

BTW, welcome to the boards and hope you find a friend that you can connect w/ and be able to joke around about things as we do.

I don't know any of those guys, but think they have provided a ton of tips from gear, general locations, lures to use, etc, etc.

At one point they were providing even more specific locations and I think they stopped doing so just to shut some big mouth (among other things) from another boards ranting. I'm not even familiar with that area, but feel pretty confident I could find them based on the general location information provided.

While they may joke around, if you take the time to go through that entire thread there is just about everything you need to get started surf fishing right there and that information is coming from people who have done it for years; some many of years.

I will add, making that post as your second post has to make me question whether you are just over here from another board to start something. If that isn't true I suggest a little dimplomacy until folks are a little more familiar with you.

No 916, you are all wrong! *There are much better spots than that with better baits. * Actually, you'd be better off using the six inch green lure there at the local market. *You are sure to get your limit with that lure! ;D

As Double D would put it....

END OF THREAD!!!

BASSPUTIN.....I smell a TROLL, are you?....prove me wrong,
all the guy's on the board that talk all that smack to each other, we all met here..it's not a close group of people we fish with everyone, and if someone wants to get started surf fishing we will show what we know, and that other board you are referring to is STRIPER'S ONLINE and we all belong to that forum also...we don't spot name anymore
and that makes sense..but if you or anyone else wants to know whats happening or where the fish are just PM one of us and we will tell you if we know...so what is it you here to start trouble or you want to join in the fun..the ball is in you court.

BASSPUTIN..I went back and looked at your first of only two
post and you did have something good to add to surf striper's the map...maybe no one responded to that post I don't know..all you had to do was keep posting and you would get a response, but after that I don't know if anyone will...I like to forgive and for get, so if you think you would like to get involved with that thread it's OK with me......and don't be so antisocial.

I think the posts and thread on the Surf Stripers topic from all the guys like DD, Dimpala, Hookie, Noodle Rod, Master Baiter, Godfather, Fbanaria, FishinFool408, GT, tomaurand, 916steelhead, and many others has been informative, interesting, and hillarious. I've fished the surf in the Bay Area for many years. In the 50's and 60's with my Dad. The 70's up to the present day with my Wife. We quit fishing for the "King of Surf Fish" in the 80's because of the drop in numbers of the species here. I began reading your posts in May 2005. It has inspired my wife and I to surf fish for them again, this time with the light tackle your posts have mentioned. I've read other Forums and the Sniffer Forums are by far the most informative from the tackle recommendations, pictures, tides, weather, locations, etc. My wife, brother and I have met Dimpala at Mori's and I've fished next to Noodle Rod and Hookie once at Mori's. Keep your posts and threads going guys, it's been enjoyable and an inspiration for an oldtimer and his wife. As far as we're concerned Bassputin is just one of those individuals that needs an hour and a half to watch the program called 60 Minutes. ;D

BASSPUTIN, hi and welcome.. if you're still here, you will have read the summation of a group of people who have fished together mostly as a result of participation here. I personally have only fished with a few, and the only members I have fished with prior to joining this site were family.. (ringing in the banjos from Deliverance..) ;) If you will notice, most of the guys who banter back and forth have hundreds, or more, posts indicating that they have put in a significant amount of time geeking out on the computer instead of fishing, but we do actually fish and some of us are actually pretty good at it! Feel free to come and join in, have some fun and bring your food to the table (or tailgate as the case may be).. We don't discriminate here unless you're a TROLL, so show the masses that they're wrong and tell us a bit about yourself and we can all break bread! FISH ON!

bassputin.you should read all the posts before you come up with a b.s posting like you did.i was /am a newbie to the surf scene.i took the time to read the 80+ pages of info.i learned more there than i could have fishing for years.yes there was some b.s ;D.but also a ton of information.there were more than a few people that were willing to go the extra mile and give me some information privately.that i felt was way beyond what they needed to do.why should fishermen, who have invested many months or even years, just give up all their information?tips and pointers are there to be had.but if you are down on people for not giving up the exact spot, lure and moon phase they are catching fish at.you are seeking things you need to find out on your own.

Thanks for the concern. I'm still alive. they couldn't do it. she drilled and pulled and whatever for a long time and couldn't get it all out. Now I need to go to a specialist. my roots are too skinny. They might have another of there dentists try it but I knew I need a specialist before she started but she sounded confident. I don't know if I want the other guy to try and fail. that could be extra pain. It didn't really hurt much so Its all good.

As far as this post goes I think this guy has been reading our posts (looker) and not helping at all. ;D ;DThanks FishinFool408 and Noodle Rod. It's great to be back on the surf fishing for my most favorite gamefish. Your Posts have motivated my wife, brother, and I to fish for the "King of Surf Fish" again. It's been a long, long time for us. Thanks for the invite FishinFool and yes Noodle Rod, I have the fever once again. Hope to see you guys out there sometime, I'll make sure we introduce ourselves, when we see you guys. It's hard for us to make it to the Rock now days as I'm sure you can tell by my other post that we're up there in our years. But maybe Mori's, Rockaway, or Linda Mar. I have a buddy that lives down at Pajaro Dunes and he says they're hitting top water along the Santa Cruz beaches pretty regular. In the next couple of weeks we're going to try down there. We'll let you know, or maybe we'll see you down there. Noodle Rod, I fished next to you in early June at Mori's. There were guys casting from the Pier to the Point that day. My brother and I left before the run that day. Your posts stated that the run happened at 11am that day. Oh well, that's fishing for you. Hope to meet you guys soon, FISH ON!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
