The Pacifica Police Dept has begun to enforce the new ordinance with gusto.
Which city will be next? Daly City, San Francisco, Oakland ?
Will they fall like dominos ? Who cares about the fishermen?

Sec. 4-10.120. Loitering prohibited during certain hours.
Excepting beaches, no person shall enter, remain, stay or loiter in any park, mini-park or park or mini-park adjacent parking areas or at any recreation facility between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the following day or in any beach adjacent parking areas between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. of the following day.
Notwithstanding the above, no person shall enter, remain, stay or loiter on Linda Mar Beach or Rockaway Beach during the following hours: during standard time, as defined in California Government Code Section 6807-2, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.; and during daylight saving time, as defined in California Government Code Section 6807-3, from 10:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

I have already written an email to the city manager. I'll let you all know when or if I get a response.

I can see trying to keep the riff raff off the beaches who are just there to party and lite bon fires. We are fishermen and we don't bother anybody. Why should we not be allowed to exercise our right to fish on a public beach bordering a public ocean?

I also sent the city manager an email but I don't think one email is going to cut it.

Maybe we should post the city manager name and e-mail address and post it so more of us can send him an e-mail,and we can go to STRIPER'S ON LINE which a lot of us are members also and get the rest of them to send an e-mail,and COAST SIDE FISHING and any other we need to stop this if we can.

read the post on this in fishing issues.pacifica night fishing.that info needs to be shared with the fishermen of the state.i did not post it on the regular striper board because i didn't want to have the whole thread moved to pollitical issues..when you are done reading what i wrote look up public trust doctrine.

Thanks Blue4spd...I've been sending e-mails..a word written is more powerful than a work spoken.

And I wonder if the Rusty Hook and the other new bait and tackle store are getting involved?

Sure. I'll do my part and tear down all the signs I see posted up! And when we are approached by the law, I will just play dumb! ;D
