I do alot of striper than sturgeon fishing but if I was to buy a Daiwa SG27LC or SG47LC, do you think these reel would be able to stand up to the sturgeon?

I am not sure exactly which one that is without looking it up, but I caught a 38" sturgie on a tiny little spinning rod/reel w/ 10# line. If it is a level wind (or not) I am sure it will work. It all depends how much money you want to spend

Yes, either one will do the job. *
Having said that, I just returned from FW Manteca where I bought two 2200 Tiger Ugly Stik rods and Penn 320GT2 reels strickly for Dinos.
Now watch all the hits will be on the wife's light tackle CAL-1100 Ugly Stiks with Calcutta 200 reels *:-/. *Those light tackle BTW boated all the Sturgeon we've caught so far this year *:o. *
Oh well, life goes on *;D
