I tried fishing SPB on saturday for the derby... Big wind, bigger waves, no other boats in sight, not a darn bite from anything.

I was out there to today near the pump house and got el nothing same with most other boats that I talked to on the radio. I left around 3:30
2.5 hours before the bottom of the minus tide. Launch in Petaluma so we had a hour boat ride back in. But it was a awesome day out there lite winds.

Hang in there. If the wind is down I'm heading out just past the rock wall. [smiley=party.gif]

Fished SPB on tuesday from 10:30 am til 3:45 pm. No current at the pump house so we headed east to 20 ' of water. Better current , but not as much as we like. 1.5 hours= 2 sharks and a kingfish. Moved twards the rock wall and into the channel. Marked many fish and set up on the edge (out of the way of the tanker ships) There is plenty of current there. 2 hours = 4 sturgeon bites (for sure) one swing and miss, one 3 second hook-up, and one 40". We got some othe bites of unkwown species, mostly on the ghost. Roe was the bait of choice. We will go back out again Thursday and start out where the fish are. The wind was about 3 mph-then calm, beautiful out there!

We fished the pump house and down near the brick plant. Lots of what were probably diaper striper bites. One of the guys did manage to land a very respectable 8' bull head. Beautiful day on the water. Hope to get back out this weekend.

Do you know if they have made it any better to launch at low tide?
Thanks GC
