Fished Monty yesterday morning til night and ended up with 1 shaker at 33 inces, and two keepers 54 & 59 inches. between 3 of us. And one lonesome schoolie striper. All fished released but the 54 incher kept to be fried, mmmmmm. Started off slow with the outgoing but the action picked up in the evening on the incoming tide. Moderate light breeze for a min. then none at all, not to cold either. Marked quite a few for the day, hopefully we get some decent amount of rain tuesday to really get the bite going.

No oil on the water? I had some people out there just a little while ago and said there was oil on the water. Where were you fishing? I go there from time to time and try the "clam beds" by the dock. Just looking for some good spots for that slough when i go there.

Thanks!

GREAT JOBS GUYS. JUST A QUICK QUESTION. I FISH IN THE MONTEZUMA SLOUGH BEFORE, BUT WHERE EXACTLY IS MONTY? IS THAT BEFORE THE GATE OR AFTER?

Thanks for the report. What was the bait of preference?

Cheers,

I would think it would be quite a stretch for oil to make Montezuma from the bay. I wonder if there is something going on more locally?

The oil never made it past the Caquinez Bridge. If there is a report of oil, it's coming from somewhere local. I was out a week ago in Monte and saw no oil nor was our hull slimed.

Two keepers in one day.. can't beat that. Awesome job on the catch. I'm thinking of fishing the monty near grizzly bridge over the weekend. Any good reports on this area at the moment? I was going to try the MBF in my 14" boat, but didn't want to take the chance with bad wind and tide. Happy fishing over the weekend everyone.
