What a difference an inch can make :o 2 inches on a big fish could mean over a 50# change. I would be measuring carefully ;)

so if i was a sturgeon i would only weigh 86#s. i need to stop eating all those crispy cremes ;D

hey sehoner...sorry SS this is off your topic :P. but I noticed your fillet debone saying under your post. I'm new to fillet my fish but don't know about deboning them so after you fillet them you pic out the rib bones and stuff. any help would be great.

Chart seems fairly accurate, 71" I caught last year in south bay weighed in at 104 lbs. Chart says 107 lbs.
...........I can live with the missing 3 lbs.../gary

Assume a standard deviation of about +/- 10% from the weights shown on the chart, with the exception of a female that is in spawn mode that can weigh as much as 50% more than the weight shown on the chart.

I looked at the chart but it doesn't have girth included. I'd like to know what a 92 inch length, 52 inch girth white sturgeon weighs approximately?!? My buddy pulled in this mammoth yesterday after an hour and a 15 minute fight, caught on grass outgoing tide. Unfortunately the camera was in the truck but I am really really curious on the weight??

Mucho Gracias!

8 foot 6 inches approximately 322 lbs, bigger if it was female. He only fought it for 15 minutes? What was he using a truck to bring it in? ??? ;D That just doesn't seem possible.

Hogs Bro,
No that fish was 92 inches, took over an hour to land, reread the post? ;) The thing about that fish was her girth. I recently caught one a few inches shorter I was able to bring up in under an hour. She was 90 inches long.

wrong ;D
How can I post a picture? I fish from a 12 foot boat but I have a couple of pictures that demonstrate length or at least give you a perspective. Hard when you can't just string her up. .but they tell a Great! story.

i had a hard time deciding if i should post the pics or not, because of how the fish was VERY Roughly handled. pics are up on the Sturgeon Photo Album. *You might read some negative response though due to, again the fish being handled Roughly.

Yeah 15 minutes does sound crazy.
As for handeling the fish, she was very successfully revived, brought along side to remove the wire leader, and measured. Thanks for posting the pictures.
