View Full Version : 11/25/2005 Sherman Island Report

Friday, November 25th - Launched at Sherman Island and fished downstream in 32' of water. Hit a 36" shaker sturgeon near the end of the incoming tide on roe/eel/pile worm combo. Wind reversed direction and started howling in the opposite direction of the outgoing tide. Moved into the mouth of Sherman Lake and caught some shaker stripers. Saw some birds working and started throwing Fish Traps and Rattle Traps. Only managed hits - no hookups. Must have been a bunch of shakers pushing the shad around. Got a drift sock this weekend so I don't have to deal with the wind/tide conflict again!

I was thinking of getting a drift sock, But I am worried if I get a big fish I will get tangled on the sock.Is this a problem you have seen???Or am I worried for nothing ??? ;D

keep that sock on a short leash and you'll be fine, it's no different than going around an outboard motor- just get that rod tip out far!
