found it on the bottom of a lake thats low right now. what is it?

It looks like a lure saver. When you snag a lure, you run this weight down your line with string and bounce it over your lure to free it from the snag. My guess!

u guys are to funny! ;D cool, wish i knew what it was when i found it, cuz i lost two big rapalas at that lake! so i tie a rope to the doggy head and run it down my line to the lure and yank! its going my box 8)

Chris, you don't "Yank." You bounce it on the head of your lure in the hopes it pushes the hook tips backwards or out of what it was stuck in. It is a subtle touchy-feely thing.

That is a lure retriever and probally the one that I have lost. The are called "Hound Dog". They work great.
