View Full Version : I HAVE A LEAK NEED HELP

That is on my motor ;D its by the propeller looks like guewee stuff :o leaking quite a bit I know I need to fix it before I take it back out itís a tohatsu 18hp :'(

Sounds like it could be one of two things, either you have a bad seal in your lower unit and are leaking gear lube or if your motor is a two-cycle, it could just be unburned gas & oil dribbling out of the exhaust.

:o Chick, sounds like you may have a leaking seal in your lower end. I would take it to a good shop and have it repaired. I know shops are not cheap but the price for a new motor is even worse. This is the sort of thing you want to fix before you take it out again.You may want to ask the good Doctor. I am sure he will agree with me on this one. Good luck. :)

Around the prop? Sounds like a prop shaft seal. May have gotten some fishing line wound up in there and cause the seal to go bad. Someting you do want to fix.

Chick, when I checked out the engine for you I told you that it probably needed to have the prop shaft re-sealed and to knock $200 off the price to cover the cost. Remember? ???

This is an easy fix should take very long or cost very much at all wish I was closer I would do it for you only takes a few min.

Hi Guys,
I talked with my buddy in Cold Springs he said he will do the work for me and all I have to do is clean his house sounds like a fair deal to me ;D he said he would fix my coupler again I kind of bent it just a little bit one day when I was practicing backing up at lease I know how far I can turn it ;D

Hey Doc,
I got off cheap $32.00 for the parts and we did a trade for the labor ::) ;)
