Saw the weather was good not knowing if me and the boys had a shot at salmon but with weather like this we had to go try, launched at west side at 7 am and headed for deep water, started at the 17 line and started trolling west, tried bait and apexes 50 and 75 otw, ran into some of whales and started metering some bait, figure it was krill, so I put on a hoochie and a flasher and dropped it back in but to 120 feet, bam fish on, 15incher, little while later fish on 18incher, drop the watermelon apex to 140 feet, trolled around this area for awhile and then headed further NW trolled a little while in 300 feet of water then trolled back toward shallower water 270 feet and then back toward 300 feet, fish on twenty and1/2inches, figured this may be the only one we get and its mouth was pretty torn up from the hook so we figured we had a fish for the barbacue tonight, the whales and krill kept going North so we followed, bam fish on 15 lber, then awhile later 17lber in the box, then another 24incher and we kept trolling zigging back and forth deep deeper and another boat joins us, trys it for twenty minutes and leaves and as he leaves we get a double 26incher and a 18lber, we are excited we have limits with 3 quality and 3 barbacue size salmon and whales and dolphins to watch, weather and fishing condtions were great, we covered the 17 line to the 21 line for these salmon, no concentration just had to work for them, 6 hours of trolling, fish per hour, hoochie and apex tied but two biggest came off apex.Heard of some others had been caught off of Tomales in 70 feet of water, one here one there, everyone was shocked when we came in with 6, we got lucky again. Here are some pics, and ya I know my son does not have a PDF, we left them at home and they had to wear the orange ones that came with the boat so I let him pull it off for pics, I still probally desrve a butt chewing for letting him take it off
