Fished Katchemak bay for Halibut and Silvers. Weather was incredible and the fishing was wide open. The biggest suprise to me was how cool the locals are up there. A great trip and I would suggest it to anybody. I didn't snap many pics because the action was nonstop. The Halibut would hit as soon the 1 lb. ball hit the bottom. Ater I landed a 10# silver that hit my herring on a 20/0 circle hook w/ 180# leader I decided to put out a mooch rod. I used my penn 8'6 8-12# rod with a 10# test line. What a blast it is to catch those silvers on light tackle. They run, dive, jump untill you can finally tire them out after about 10 minutes. And the limit is 6. What a blast, best fishing trip ever. If you havn't been there before, do what you can to get up there. I already have plans for next year. On the days we didn't go out on the ocean we caught big bows in the Kenai on fly poles.
