Weather permitting of course it looks like a mini-fest heading for Bogeda on Sat. Sept. 10th. Any other sniffer's going to be there? Sunracer and his boat, Steelheadslayer and Anna and their boat, Ron Gone Fishin and his boat, and of course my boat. I'm trying to get Krzy to go out with me ;D I need his luck to rub off on me, I've missed to many big fish at the boat lately ??? ???

Maybe Doc, it seems to always fill up and you have to make reservations 10 days in Advance ??? who knows what the weather is going to be 10 in advance? heck they don't know what tomorrow is going to bring. I think Ron and I will be driving down Sat. morning early. You can come and camp at my house Fri. if you want, when we get back Sat. night you can make your choice if you want to head back or stay. Or go on line and see if you can reserve a campsite at Doran, you know you're always welcome here... OK, here it is Krzy, will you please go fishing on my boat next Sat. JasonB will probably bring Matt and he's a boatfull ;D ;D I don't think Hammer is going, he doesn't do early ;) ;D

Sept 10th is our wedding anniversary. Think I can convince my wife?? ::) ;D

I was planning on hitting Bodega tomorrow. That 5-7feet every 8 seconds in 10-20 knots was a little questionable for my 15 footer. I decided to do some housework instead. :-/

Hey Rusty...

What are cop cars?

krzyfshrmn
09-11-2005, 09:11 PM
Apex color

Rusty_Hooks
09-12-2005, 08:21 AM
Cop cars are the black and hazy grey color of Apex's

Those have been working well....So I've heard....

as well as the watermelon apex's...both in the 5" size

Herring FBR's are doing well but the hooks must be set at or very near the tail...alot of clip jobs happening ;)

Don't forget...

typically apex's come with 20# or 30# leaders....

the fish are bigger and the lures are doing better on 50#

retie before you go out.... ;)

marnilr
09-12-2005, 01:13 PM
Thanks for the info Rusty. Although I have to say, I may as well be trolling a paperclip for all the luck I have had with the Watermelon apex's. I must be the ONLY person that has ever tried them without one single bite. Maybe I'll try my luck with that copcar color.

drstressor
09-12-2005, 02:26 PM
Try the emerald green/silver and army truck Apexes as well. Watermelon works because it has green in it. I doubt that the salmon are keying on the spots. Spawning salmon undergo a change in color sensitivity as they get close to shore. They go from blue sensitive in the ocean to green sensitive as they get closer to their natal rivers. So they see green lures particularly well.

I'm not making this up.;D All of this has been well documented in the literature.
