Question?

Does anybody on here know approximately where in the bay (Benicia, Pittsburg etc) the saltwater meets the fresh water??

Thanks!
Jeff

Not exactly sure, but I know I have caught kingfish at the Mothball fleet. So, I know there's some saltwater there. I know Antioch is freshwater because black bass are caught off the dock at the marina. So ... Pittsburg??

The spot where fresh meets salt changes everyday with the tides, but Pittsburg is a good middle of the road (water) where it usually is.

Brackish water is when salt and fresh are combined in estuaries. *I have always wondered if people who fish regularly in the delta have to buy salt water trolling motors. *Does someone know? *My guess is that there is a little bit of salt quite far into the delta.

Just a bit of something I learned from my dad who was a
Fish and Game Biologist. When anadromous fish make the move from salt to freshwater or vice versa, they have to do it gradually. They have to adjust to it. That is why they will hang out near the mouth of a river for awhile.
