Triggerfish, where did you hear about a red tide bloom? Normally the DFG and Health dept. issues an alert when it begins and ends.

2 weeks back it was starting to look reddish/brown and dirty. I was concidering a dive but not if there is 1 ft.of visibility.

The reddish color is only an algae or plankton bloom. Not Redtide.

hopefully you're seeing 'brownish' - which would look redish compared to the clear green water we've seen too much of as of late. this would be considered by many of us to be a good thing.

i've tied my rigs and docked my boat in preparation for tomorrow/sat13 5:00 am run down to elephant. was planning to try and scare up some early bite action close in and retreat to deeper water if nothing good happens. either way i'll have a report of some kind.

not at all happy with what the 13 buoy is showing - 29kt winds at 12:00a.m.

maybe i should just get some sleep and think happy thoughts.

once again going solo because my buddy cancelled late today. grrrr.

Good luck if you go today 65whaler. Bouy report at 4am has an 8foot swell every 7 seconds and 27.5 knot winds
