All you guys that are waiting for mackreal,they are being caught off the wharf now.Went down to the esplande last nite for dinner with the fam and walked the wharf seeing macks being caught.

You know what kind of bait are they using to catch macks. I want to take my little nephew to catch some of those fish.

bait jigs work.. they have them at the boat house there..

sabiki jigs with pieces of shrimp or chovies under a bobber.

Cloudy.Rain front is moving in.Rain fri eve and saturday.Ocean is going to get rough friday afternoon and will be snotty on saturday.

I'm supposed to fish Capitola on Sat.... - I'm down for some snotty wet fishing, but dangerous I wont cross.

Hope it's not as bad as it sounds out there....

Good luck be safe.Swell is going to be big at 10 to 15 ft at 10 seconds with a S swell 2 to 3 feet thrown into the mix.Going to be a washing machine out there for sure on the bay.

That 10-15ft swell is on the outside though right?

I should just stop trying to figure it out before Sat and see whats what on Sat... :D

Got there a little later (830Am) to see the water was fast, but not up. We launched and made bait pretty quickly... - great bait sized Macs.

First drop my drag burns after two bounces of the weight on bottom. Fish comes to color and it's a nice sized halibut. Get em to the boat and go for a tail grab. He flips out, I dont have my bail in freespool and you can guess the outcome...

No other bites after that and the wind just picked up from there. Sloppy ride back in later in the day. Fished till 1.

looks like the sc area is still producing hali's. I caught a keeper last week.
