Hit up the HMB Jetty early this morning, and with the suggestions of an earlier post did pretty well for my second time fishing it. (First time i got skunked).

Between marker 21 and 22 I caught 1 barred perch 3 rock cod 1 cabezone and 4 keeper crabs(soon to be dinner). Unfortunately as i have never caught rock cod i didnt know what the heck it was or the regs so i tossed all back once caught. Used anchovies and squid. Everything was caught about 10 feet off the jetty, except for the cabezone which i dropped straight down a hole in the jetty.

I cannot thank you guys enough for teaching me how to actually catch fish on this thing...AMAZING FUN!

North Jetty and it was pretty calm. Really cloudy, waves started just as I was leaving. Started about 6:30-7:00am, midtide.

Good Job! how big was the cab? I have the same problem with knowing the regs. Even when I think I know it is OK to keep the fish Im still not positive with all the different ones.

The cab was just short of being legal at almost 14"

Good job on the jetty!
Here's a good rockfish id chart: *http://www.dfg.ca.gov/marine/pdfs/fishid2008.pdf
All rock cods you catch, it doesn't matter the size. *
All greenlings you catch have to be 12" and a bag limit of 2.
All cabs you catch have to be 15" and a bag limit of 1.
All lingcod you catch have to be 24" and a bag limit of 2.
There is a total bag limit of rockfish of 10. *That means you can have a total of ten rockfish. The greenlings and cabs count towards the rockfish limit of 10 and the lings can be counted as seperate.
