Are those King Fish edible? How would you prepare them? I guess they are one of the few ocean caught fish that you are allowed to keep.

Thanx.

They are white sea bass. They are edible and yes you are allow to keep 3 (28"+) per angler in northern water.

Yes, Those are White Seabass (Croaker family) and as far as I'm concerned, one of the best eating fish in the ocean. Flacky white meat.

I've never heard anyone call white seabass "kings", is that a joke or a common term (I've yet to catch one)?

Did you catch them in the San Francisco Bay or did you go outside the gate?

Kingfish, are the same as tom cod,or ronkie. Which are concidered trash fish. They don't get very big,and are full of paracites.* They are in the same family,as a* white sea bass, which is not a bass. I hope that clears things up a bit. And it was a joke!

Thanks, it sounded like a joke but I didn't know if that was a local slang term for them. Can't wait to catch my first one!
