Had a great day at Pyramid on Friday.* Caught about 14 fish just spent all day jigging with Lazer Eye Minnow spoons and marabou jigs.* My buddy caught a very nice fish, guessing around 15 pounds.* He let it go.* *:(

Friday was a beautiful day. Thanks for the post. Jigging seems like a kicked back way to fish. 15 pounds is a monster. Hope he took a picture.

Will try and post a link to a video, I got the catch on video and then my buddy setting him loose. I wanted to puke when he did that, lol.

Ok, here we go at my attempt to show you guys some pictures that I captured from the video I had on my friends big cuttthroat.* The problem with the video is that it took him almost 10 minutes just to get him to the surface so it is pretty long and the file size is huge.* I hope you enjoy these shots.* The pictures do not do the fish justice, it was a monster!

First sight...

Right before he pulled the hook out of his mouth and let him go....

Can't wait to get back out there.* If I catch him, he will be going with me on a little trip to Crosby's.

It's not all that bad to release these fish unless it is your goal to mount the fish and even then if you take good measurements and a good picture a replica can be made. The big guys don't taste all that good. The smaller guys are better. Earlier this year I returned a 10 pounder from Pyramid but I kept others. 15 pounds is a Cutt of a life time.

My uncle told me that taking fish of that size out of the lake is always a good thing, just due to the amount of fish that it eats on a daily basis? Is this true or is he just blowing smoke? I don't know, either way i would have kept that thing and hung him on my wall.

The larger fish, especially females, produce lots of eggs. There is food enough in Pyramid for all the fish. Especially this year. I do know that there are arguments for both side of the issue. My feling is that if I'm not going to eat them or give them to some one then back they go. A 12 inch Brook is another thing completely. :)
