Sunday September 27th

Our fish total in 09 is now 202
This was our 38th day fishing this year

When I said hot as hell I meant the 95+ degree heat today.
Got up at 4:45 and left the house at 6:10.
We had to detour around down town Livermoore due to the annual classic car show.
Got on the lake at 7:05.

Dr Q launched just before we did.
Out to the dam, threw our J7s on the down riggers and were off!
We could see stripers making the water boil all around us.
Tried for them with no luck.
SOME DAY I WANT A STRIPER! Oh well.... :-/

8:27- Kristy catches a 16" trout on her J7 at 25ft with shrimp scent. Released.
in the net...

Keep on trolling...
Sounds familiar...Oh that was keep on trucking. Anyhow...
Nothing going on so Mike changes to a white grub with butt juice.
Still zip....
An hour later he switches to a J5 rapala.

10:00-Kristy lands a nice 17" trout on the J7 with shrimp/krill scent. I wanted to keep it but it was just lip hooked so Mike said I should let it go, So I did. Raspberry sound! :P

Me happy with my two fish...
Girl can do her own down rigger!

By this time there were a lot of boats out there and it made trolling a pain,
So we drift fished for an hour or so and gave up when the Bimini top no longer was enough to keep us from frying.
Packing up for the day...
A heron near heron bay... Surprising*
Mike and his enormous invisible fish!...
Left at 12:30, got hot dogs and got home around 1:45.

Can't wait for the cooler weather to kick in!
Good not to be skunked though!

Use a jointed rap with black and silver and a rattle to it, use a little larger size than you have and troll he narrows. Apply some anchovie paste and smear the hooks with it too. This works for strippers in that area of DV. You look like you had a great day on the lake, sorry you had to put up with so many boaters but fishing on weekends is always like that.......Jetspray

Mike and Kristy, once again I enjoyed your story and pics. I can't wait to make it out to DV this week. Hopefully I could have the same luck like you both. Till next time, FISH ON!

Love the invisible fish. Made me laugh. Good job out there. I too am a fan of not being skunked. ;)

Weather report shows cooler temps this week. Finding alternate route while towing a boat can be interesting...... The car show looked nice but cant they leave some space to slip through for fishing!!

what software are you using to post your photos ??

09-30-2009, 08:47 AM
Crank bait,
I just use my little canon power shot camera to take the pics.
Then I have to upload them to my myspace page.
once I've done that I click on the pic I want, to make it show up bigger.
Start your new topic and then click the third little icon above your post that says insert image.
Next, right click on the photo and click copy image location.
Highlight your post page and hit control v.
That's the only way I know how to do it.
I hope that is the answer you were looking for.
My sons and Mike had to help me learn it.
Good luck...
Kristy :)

Hey folks take
Vasco Rd. South till in stops and turn right back towards town and left in about a 1/2 mile to DV. Saves a lot of time and no downtown traffic to negotiate.

Still a great lake that can pull out a surprise at any time!
NEVER underestimate this lake!!!
Although sometimes we wonder, Right guys? :o
I say go if you get a chance. :D
